To bag or not to bag

“To bag or not to bag” is the question. From personal experience, some clients believe grass clipping in their yard is bad, and frankly, they don’t want it—But is it really? Actually, removing grass clipping from your lawn is robbing it of its natural nutrients that it needs to thrive and stay healthy. With this being said, you should cut your lawn removing only one-third of the height.
The typical grass height for cool season lawns are 3 to 3- ½ inches and 2 to 2 – ½ inches for warm season lawns. If the grass clippings are too long then it will take a significant amount of time for it to break down in the soil, leaving your lawn looking a hot mess. The remedy for this is to treat for weeds, cut your lawn more often and remove only one third of the height.
